Hello, I am Sophie
I'm a project manager. a parent. An expat living in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Netherlands wasn't part of the master plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were challenging— unfamiliar systems, new routines, higher expectations. Routine tasks seemed more complex than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the fly. But gradually, routines settled in. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt solid.
Why I Built Dravo Karexul Ven
Much of the online information was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was lacking were genuine, day-to-day family insights.
This site aims to bridge that gap— practical advice drawn from real life in Netherlands.
